INTESTINAL WORMS - DOGS & CATS
Recommended every six months for indoor/outdoor animals.
Indoor cats: once a year.
Note: Most worms come from fleas, so flea control is crucial.
Outdoor cats will also acquire worms from eating rodents.

DIET & NUTRITION
The truth of the matter is, unless they get a lot of human foods on the side,
our pets usually have a better diet than we do. Most commercially sold
foods are said to be "Nutritionally Complete", but remember,
in dog or cat food, as with anything else, you get what you pay for!
If they're selling it for less, they're probably using cheaper components...
that's business...
Vets typically sell quality foods, as do some pet and pet supply stores.
There are a couple of criteria to watch for:

For Dogs: Ash content should not be more than 5.5% (.055)
For Cats: Magnesium content should not be more than 1.0% (.010)
If the food package doesn't give you those stats, don't buy the food!

Be careful not to overfeed your pet...especially if you have "free-feeding" cats.
If you have a four-legged fatso in your house......how 'bout some.....

EXERCISE
All living things need exercise. Even trees get exercise...bending in the wind!
So get up...move...take your dog...make time for this every day!
If you have an indoor cat, make sure they have toys to play with...and....
make sure they use them !
Just like you (OK, OK...and me!), lack of exercise can contribute to a
state of mediocre health.....
On the other hand, a good diet and even moderate exercise can help all
of us lead longer, happier, and healthier lives.

If you're not willing to be concerned about all of the above
with regard to your pets...maybe you shouldn't have pets.
Remember
, these animals are completely dependent on their
humans for everything!

Especially for some of the most needed ingredients of all....
